Simple, but very cool looking 8-) I'm assuming the Caustics are image-based? since they're too good for procedural ones :XD:

No. Its 100 % vue!
You can make so realistic caustics by activating the "Compute physically accurate caustics" button in the render options. After that you have to click the "Edit" Button beside the Advanced effects quality. There you activate the "Custom caustic photon map options". Find the right settings and you're done.

Vue can generate wonderful caustics. Try it!

Oh cool! I think I tried using accurate caustics once but couldn't figure out how to get anything to show up...seems very picky with the lighting and material refraction settings

So I'm guessing this is inside a long cylinder, with the light at the end...so what was used to refract that light to create caustics? some sphere with a watery material or something near or around the light, shedding caustics all around the tunnel?

Thanks :)
Okay, the whole scene is inside a huge sphere. It looks like a cylinder because the camera has a really wide angle. (11)
At the end is a small sphere of water with a bright light in it. That's it! :)

For the animation i just change the bumpmaps of the watersphere.
Have you see the animation on youtube?

Lol, well I was half-there :w00t: - the camera zoom-out was a clever idea, and yep - watched the animation right away when I commented first :D
